We have fished these waters in the past and had phenomenal fishing for sailfish and dorado in February and in April for rooster fish, snapper, and tuna. There is not a better choice here—you choose the type of fishing you want to experience and we get you there for a luxury experience at Crocodile Bay you will never forget.
Hosted February 2017 Bill Fishing in Peak Season with Rob Endsley

Rob Endlsey
We met Rob Endsley on a fishing trip in Panama and became fast friends. He is a great angler and even better at having fun and making people laugh. We have fished with Rob in Panama and Costa Rica. Meeting great people is big part of why we go fishing and Rob is all about having fun and fishing. Rob hosts the popular 710 ESPN radio show The Outdoor Line in Seattle and owns Prince of Wales Sportsfishing in Alaska. Fishing on a boat in Costa Rica several years ago, we talked about working together and hosting Costa Rica fishing trips each year, and now it is happening. It is exciting to offer this peak season bill fishing trip February 25 through March 3, 2017.
Crocodile Bay in on the Osa Peninsula is a remote area teaming with marine life. February and March are the peak season for sailfish, dorado (mahi), yellow fin tuna, and marlin. Fishing starts with a run to the big game, blue water fishing grounds. Billfish are the target of this trip and trolling with artificial teasers and lures seldom fails to attract fish. Many times you will see sailfish sunning on the surface with their dorsal fin (sail) out of the water. You may also cast a popper into schools of tuna. While we will be targeting the big game fish there will also be inshore fishing during this vacation. For more information about our trip with Rob – click HERE.
Hosted April 2017 Fishing Offers Inshore and Offshore Variety with Lisa & Bill Montgomery
Why another hosted trip in April? We know some of the best fishing is in April in Costa Rica and Panama. Fishing inshore you will catch rooster fish, snapper, jack fish, and even a wahoo. Crocodile Bay is one of the best destinations in the world for inshore fishing and we wanted to host a trip for people who wanted both experiences as we will be going after billfish too. Because of our close relationship with this luxury resort we have special pricing for our guests on this trip.

Inshore fishing usually has more action with a variety of fish and involves bottom fishing with a variety of lures and bait and casting poppers. We also get to target one of our favorite fish—the rooster fish. Rooster fish do a lot of jumping which make catching loads of fun.
Costa Rica fishing trips do not get any better than Crocodile Bay. The best inshore fishing in Costa Rica is in the 30-mile long, 15-mile wide Golfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf), a short forty-five run where you will find an amazing variety of fish species. A massive estuary system of creeks and mangroves with a quick drop off to more than 200 feet in depth creates excellent in shore fishing conditions. More than 40 International Game Fish Association (IGFA) world records have been established in this area. For more information about fishing with Bill & Lisa CLICK HERE.
On and Off the Water-Eco Tours and Expeditions
What if someone does not want to fish—is there something else to do? Absolutely! Crocodile Bay and the Osa Peninsula is one of the best places to visit in
Costa Rica. No other resort offers this range of ocean and rain forest experiences. Would you like a sea turtle rescue tour, a jungle night walk, snorkeling in the gulf, or a zip line experience? Choosing your expedition will be the hardest part of your trip!
The Osa Peninsula is part of the largest remaining tropical humid lowland rain forest in Costa Rica covering approximately 700 square miles. The Peninsula protects more than 360,000 acres and contains thirteen national parks and other protected refuges and reserves. National Geographic Magazine described the Osa Peninsula as “the most biologically intense place on earth.”
Crocodile Bay offers over 30 eco tours and expeditions designed into four distinct habitats with all skill levels in mind. There are expeditions on land and in the ocean. Both of our hosted trips include a ½ day rain forest excursion on our arrival day. You will fully enjoy your full leisure day by adding an aquatic tour, nature walk, bike tour, or adventure tour to your package – or just relax on the beach or at the pool. There is also an award-winning spa to tempt you into more relaxation.
Zip Lines Are Not My Friend
I will admit I like some expeditions more than others. I’ll go out with crocodiles or river raft but don’t ask me to get on a zip line! I went on a Zip Line Canopy tour in Panama. While I had on a wrist brace due to an injury, the head guide Chico had seen the look in my eyes before – SHE’S TERRIFIED. He kindly told me he was worried about my wrist and he would be my nanny. He rode the entire trail with me. On one of the platforms the person giving information told me we were up some horrible amount of meters. My “nanny” told him that I didn’t need to hear any of that! When my feet were finally on the sweet ground again I walked over to Bill, buried my face in his chest and started crying. After I settled down he disappeared and returned with 2 shots of tequila. While it was 10:30 in the morning they went down great and after all, it’s always 5:00 somewhere, right? Needless to say, that is my last zip line.

Rob, Bill and I have been on many fishing trips including these Costa Rica fishing trips with our family and friends. Please join us this coming winter for some fun in the sun and on the water.
We receive special opportunities at Crocodile Bay because of our strong relationship. There are non-angler packages for both trips so bring a spouse or friend that wants to have fun with no fishing.
